Now For The Truth: Sophie's Log Day 12

Oh Mom! I'm so glad you are home. I have to say I got a little scared when Auntie G packed up her stuff and left me alone. I grabbed my stuffed monkey and kept hitting her in the butt with it to make her stay and play.

Then I sat by the window and stared at her as she drove off. She told me yesterday she felt so bad leaving me but knew I would be soooo happy when you came through the door. She was right

Now I can relax as my prayers have been answered and you have found your way home.

As much as I missed you, I did have fun with Auntie. I made her play with me a lot, wether she wanted to or not, she always did. She also let me go in the pool anytime I wanted to! AND I also jumped on the bed a couple of times while she was sleeping, again.....wether she wanted me too or not.

I also had fun tricking her into taking me out. Until that one time when she said kinda loudly, "If you don't pee I'm going to #!%! kill you." Hahaha, I think it was just a joke because I'm still here  :-)

And I forgot all about Buster.....the bunny. I sat at the door and watched her clean his cage. Just when she had swept up all the litter and yucky stuff in a dust pan, he charged at the pan and made everything spill out everywhere. It was pretty funny, I think she wanted to #!%! kill him too.

I kinda feel like I was at summer camp, only in my own house. So anytime you leave again mom, just ask Auntie G to come over. For now I'm going to take a nap. All of this excitement has exhausted me.

Love,
Sophie

Something Weird Is Going On: Sophie's Log Day 11

Hey Mom,

Something weird is happening. Auntie G has been very busy today, putting things in bags, cleaning and it kinda feels like it did when YOU left and didn't come back.

I'm afraid she's gonna leave too and THEN what? So I'm sitting under the table....watching, waiting, hoping that she'll play with me and not leave me.

She keeps scratching behind my ears (ooooosooooogooood) and keeps saying things in a high pitched voice that I don't understand...boodaboodaboodabooo, blah blah SOPHIE, blah blah peepee blah blah blah....so I use her hand as a chew toy until we can figure things out.

I'm feeling a bit nervous mom and that's the only reason why a grabbed her underwear out of her bag, I swear. I miss you---Sophie

PS:
Bring Vera and Alex too

Morning Cocktails: Sophie's Log Day 10

Hi Mom,

I figured I would go easy on Auntie G today and didn't make her take me out until 7:00, however, I jumped on the bed with a bone in my mouth to let her know my wishes. I think I surprised her again. And THEN I kept making noises to confuse her until we finally went outside again, this time we sat by the pool. I stood patiently by the steps, waiting to go in, while she sat in a lounge chair and drank her morning cocktail.....coffee.

When she finished the coffee, we still didn't go for a swim, she worked....for hours. She was killing me.... so I finally gave up and took a nap on the couch.

Then I heard the magic words, "Let's Go." I was so happy I jumped into the pool like a crazy dog and swam and swam until a threw up a little, then swam some more. Don't worry, she said she would put some stuff in to kill the germs.

It was so much fun. Every time I started to get dry, I laid down in a puddle....I'm pretty sure I saw her roll her eyes. She says you are on your way home but I'll believe it when I see it. I miss you mom!

What's That Smell; Sophie's Log Day 9

Mom.....today was just weird. I know you humans think its funny when we dogs sniff each other's rear ends, but it's socially acceptable and encouraged in out community. But (no pun intended) what's up with people sniffing containers of food?

Auntie G was opening things in our refrigerator today, sniffing them, and DUMPING them in the trash! HELLO! Those meatballs looked perfectly good and instead of letting me have a go at them, they are gone, GONE. She said the trash man comes tomorrow and she didn't want you coming home to stinky food.....totally disregarding my feelings. They smelled fine from where I sat.

I also heard her talking about me on the phone today....about how she remembered how cute and little I was when she first met me. She showed me these photos and said "It's Throw Back Thursday," like I'm suppose to get what that means.

Well clearly I can't fit under the table anymore....I moved to the couch and pushed her over

OK.....and one more thing. You know how your shower is big and open and you can just walk in. Well I did that while she was washing her hair this morning. I just wanted some water. She screeched when she opened her eyes and saw me there, then uttered  the one word I hate most in this world.....NO.

I guess I'll go back to the yucky filtered water in my bowl. No shower water, no leftovers, my life sucks. I hope you come home soon.

Love you mom,
Sophie

Calling In The Reinforcements: Sophie's Log Day 8

Hi Mom,

I think I'm wearing Auntie G out, or maybe she didn't like the fact that I licked all of her yummy, expensive lotion off of her right leg while she was getting ready this morning. Anyway, she told me she was calling in some reinforcements today. I didn't know what that meant and was a a little nervous--until I saw Uncle Geo at the door! WOOF WOOF! I was so happy! I jumped and turned and circles and barely noticed when Auntie slipped out the front door.

She had to go to work, allthough I don't know what kind of work looks like this:

When she came home, she took me on a walk....a long one. She says I'm the one who walked HER. I couldn't help it. I was so excited and had to go to the bathroom so bad, that maybe I did drag her a little, but only past a couple of houses until I found the perfect spot to squat.

I tried to bring a palm frond in the house but the meanie made me leave it outside. I'll pout a little and see if she will play ball with me.....yes, in the house.....

Love you mom. Come home soon.

Fire Up The Grill: Sophies Log Day 7

Hi Mom!

Tomorrow will be a week since you've been gone and I'm very hopeful that you'll be home. Auntie G let me get in the pool today.....we raced and I beat her, she'll tell you a different story, but I KNOW you'll believe ME! I don't think she was happy with me because she wanted some "quiet time" and I wanted to "go outside," a bunch! I won.

For dinner we grilled out. I kept hovering by the grill, waiting for something good. Finally, Auntie G gave in and gave me some chicken. WOW was it good. She told me not to tell you.....another secret.

After dinner, I found her bathing suit and dragged it into the middle of the floor with my tennis ball, stuffed rabbit and rawhide bones. I can't figure out why she didn't like that, it's just a bathing suit and it was already wet, who cares about my slobber? Anyway,  I'm trying to be good but I miss you lots.

XOXO,
Sophie

It's Getting Hot In Here: Sophite's Log Day 6

Hi Mom,

Hope you had a great birthday celebration yesterday and now that it's over, I hope that means you are coming home!?

I have to tell you another secret thing that I did to Auntie G last night. Before she got ready for bed she took me outside, but it was so nice, I just sat and looked at the stars, sniffing the humid night air.  I waited until she was sooooo comfy, tucked under the sheets in bed, about to go to sleep, and THEN I made her get up and take me out. I thought it was funny, but she didn't laugh. baahahaha

Maybe because it was getting hot in the house and she couldn't fix whatever was wrong....no cool air, no air at all was blowing.

A nice repair man came over this morning but he didn't want to play with me and my slobbery stuffed bunny.....I have no idea why not. But he DID fix the air, we are much happier now and decided to take afternoon naps to celebrate.

Miss you mom!
Your favorite dog,
Sophie
